Astute's Nuclear team is retained by Actemium Design, a comprehensive project management and realisation business servicing nuclear customers for cradle to grave projects to recruit a C&I Engineering Manager for its Chorley site to spearhead the department and manage customer expectations for project realisation.

The department leading C&I Engineering Manager comes with a salary of �70,000 - �80,000 depending on experience, share scheme, healthcare, pension, and office-based working.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Sector Manager you will:

  • Act as a key point of contact with customer stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
  • Identify the requirements and resource required for designs to be presented.
  • Undertake design review.
  • Line management of direct reports, completing annual reviews, coaching/mentoring, and ongoing performance management.
  • Provide direction on the project processes and procedural arrangements, ensuring these are fully communicated to internal & external teams.
  • Conduct engineering delivery audits and address any improvement areas.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and withing prescribed budgets.
  • Support the production of technical information in tenders.
  • Execute strategic objectives of Senior Engineering Manager and the wider business.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone one or more the following:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field (e.g. Automation and Control, Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
  • Level 6 equivalent (NVQ, Diploma, BEng, BSc, Award)
  • Chartered Engineer

Personal skills

The C&I Engineering Manager role would suit someone who is:

  • Competent in the use of CAD/design software packages
  • Can apply design codes, standards and procedures.
  • Apply acts and regulations (law), codes of practice, and designate standards appropriate to scopes of work.
  • Commercially astute, understanding budgeting & cost control, reporting practices.
