Happy Jobs NI is working alongside Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit an organised, passionate and driven Content Coordinator to join their passionate team responsible for their EARTH Hub project.

EARTH Hub Project Background

This project is a collaboration between Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful (KNIB) and Northern Ireland Environment Link (NIEL), specifically with the Education for Sustainable Development Forum (ESDF) for which NIEL provides the secretariat function. There are two interlinked and synergistic elements to this proposal, which combined to deliver significant elements of the Strategy & Action Plan for Education for Sustainable Development.

  • To significantly elevate the public profile and promotion of environmental education opportunities.
  • Create a more streamlined delivery of education for sustainable development both within the eNGO sector and cross sectorally in Northern Ireland.

This project seeks to implement a number of the key areas of action identified in the Strategy & Action Plan, including: to contribute to and assist in the development of existing relationships among the ESDF members; to create opportunities for external collaborations and partnerships between ESDF members and organisations outside of the forum; to train and support educators and university level teaching students in NI to embed ESD when meeting their curriculum requirements.

Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is a charity working towards the vision of a world where people and nature thrive, by running environmental-education programmes and awareness-raising campaigns, increasing volunteering opportunities and reporting on local environmental quality. Programmes include the national civic-pride campaign Live Here Love Here, Tackling Plastic NI, Tackling Textiles, Carbon Literacy training, environmental education programme, Eco-Schools NI and local environmental quality programmes, such as Blue Flag Award, Seaside

Award, Green Flag Award, Cleaner Neighbourhoods and Marine Litter surveys.

About The Role

As an EARTH Hub Content Coordinator for Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful you will be part of a team at the forefront of shaping environmental education for a brighter future. Working in collaboration with eNGOs, you'll craft dynamic resources for a cutting-edge environmental education platform.

What You'll Do:

  • Creative Collaboration: Forge partnerships with eNGOs to assess existing resources and adapt them for the EARTH Hub platform.
  • Compelling Content: Develop captivating written, visual, and multimedia materials, ensuring alignment with educational goals and scientific accuracy.
  • Expert Coordination: Work closely with subject matter experts and educators to ensure high-quality content creation.
  • Supplier Coordination: Coordinate external suppliers such as videographers and graphic designers as needed.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Empower eNGOs with the skills to generate future EARTH Hub content independently.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Education: Degree in a relevant field or 5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience: Strong writing skills with a passion for environmental education. Previous experience in content creation and collaboration preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, research, and ICT skills required. Knowledge of design software and educational design principles desirable.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of environmental issues and the educational sector beneficial.

Hours of Business:
Flexible business hours of 8am - 6pm. Core hours 10am - 4pm

Location:
Hybrid: Belfast Office & Home & Field-based. ( 2 days/wk in office)
You must already hold a permit to work in UK/NI if you do not live in UK

Salary:
£28,000 (pro-rata for fixed term)
