Early Years Practitioner (Part-Time)

Our Early Years Practitioners are responsible for providing a high standard of learning, development and care for our children, which is steeped in the knowledge of attachment theory and early brain development. Supported by our Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager, our team will nurture environments that are emotionally and physically safe.
Role of the Early Years Practitioner:
To ensure our environments are safe, nurturing and engaging both indoors and outdoors
To meet with our families at drop off and pick up times
Provide a high level of awareness to transition periods and be responsive to the emotional needs of our children and families during this time
Plan stimulating and engaging activities for our children to thrive
Prepare lunch and snacks
Undertake risk assessments
Complete daily paperwork, including but not limited to, risk assessments, registers and room temperatures
Complete observations for our children and update our learning log system
Be involved in supporting new children to settle into our nursery environment
Complete home visits as and when appropriate
Liaise closely with our families, informing them of activities and exchanging information about progress
Qualities and characteristics:
Have a fascination and curiosity in the development of children
Show a commitment to ensuring their professional development remains relevant and up to date through accessing current research on child development
Be an outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic person with the ability to have fun
Can demonstrate our values of Love, Curiosity, Integrity and Courage
Essential Skills and Experience:
Hold a minimum HNC/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare
A current PVG and SSSC registration
Have knowledge of GIRFEC, Pre-Birth to Three and Child Development and be able to give examples of use in practice

Salary banding: £22,000 to £26,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience. Pro rata depending on hours worked
