Are you experienced in Early Years Education Funding and looking for a new challenge?
This is an exciting time to join our small and friendly Early Years and Childcare Team and develop the Early Education funding system across the City of York, and support roll out of the new childcare reforms.
You will be working in a constantly changing environment thereforea flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative is essential, whilst working accurately and to deadlines.
The successful applicant should have a detailed working knowledge of Early Education funding or be able to evidence transferable skills, in addition to a high degree of ICT skills, with proven experience of using IT software. Knowledge of the Access Synergy software would be preferred but is not essential.
This is a fixed term appointment to backfill a secondment and the expected end date is 31 March 2026.
We have a hybrid working model with some days working from home and others in our city central award-winning offices, ideally situated near the train station and main bus routes. There is some flexibility over how the hours can be worked including working across 4 or 5 days.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
