Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a candidate who speaks an additional language. We have Learning Support Assistant to work within a Secondary School based in Lambeth supporting pupils 1-2-1. We have students that English is not there first language. We need support for them to keep up with the curriculum candidates that know how to work and understand students' education growth. We are looking for a vibrant and adaptable Learning Support Assistant, that will be able to support pupils daily in the classroom. Some of the pupils you will be supporting will have various needs and language barriers. You many have experience or have no experience of supporting different needs would be desirable but not essential. You will play a key role in supporting the pupils with communication, learning, and independence, in a safe and inclusive environment to help their development.

Job Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with EAL (English as an additional language)
• Language and learning barriers
• Building a good rapport with staff and students.
• Supervising pupil's behaviour
• Encourage and support the pupils learning and development
• Support social interaction
• Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities

Job Requirements

• Experience of support children or adults with EAL or Learning difficulties needs
• Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities
• Strong communication skills
• Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
• Available 5 days a week
• Able to commit to 6-12 months
