Xodus has been established for over 18 years and engineers, analysts and advisors work together to find the optimal solutions for our clients, considering the technical, logistical, commercial, political, regulatory, and environmental factors.The ongoing changes in the energy sector represents exciting new challenges for our Process Engineers working on sustainable emission reduction projects such as electrification, CCUS, Hydrogen as well as minimising the impact of existing plants, equipment, and traditional technologies through production optimisation.We are seeking an enthusiastic Subject Matter Expert and Process Dynamic Simulation Technical Lead experienced in the managing and executing Process Dynamic Simulation studies across all delivery stages (concept through to detailed design), who also possesses an active interest in assisting clients and the wider energy industry through the transition to Net Zero.In response, they can expect to support and manage assignments across much of the energy spectrum.The successful candidate will be capable of leading and coordinating small agile process teams, in building and running process dynamic simulations, to solve problems and implement first class proactive solutions for our clients. They should have demonstrable extensive experience and knowledge in developing complex dynamic simulations.
The candidate will be required to support the process team manager in further enhancing, developing the dynamics simulation capability within the Process team.
The candidate can expect to be involved in variety of projects ranging from Compressor Start-up Sequence Validation & Surge Analysis, Process Safety Times Assessments, HIPPS design support and water injection system surge (water-hammer) analysis.
The optimal candidate will be both a leader and team player, capable of producing well-written and technically accurate study reports, as well as communicating Engineering concepts in a straightforward manner to other engineers, project managers, superiors, and clients, thereby demonstrating the ability to summarise key parameters and drivers succinctly for all audiences. The ideal candidate will support the Xodus process team and clients as acting subject matter expert on process dynamics with Xodus. In tandem, they should be enthusiastic about contributing to the learning of others, demonstrating a willingness to coach, support less experienced engineers, particularly regarding IChemE chartership attainment and continuous professional development.The candidate will be required to engage and communicate with clients regularly, maintain Xodus’ standards and visions, and support Xodus’ business development requirements. They should also display a flexible approach, being adaptable to varying assignments at short notice, as well as in multi-tasking to ensure delivery of concurrent assignments, as required.The role requires a pro-active, diligent approach with excellent communication, report writing, presentation skills with the ability to summarize key parameters and drivers. Innovative and creative thinking is part of the culture in Xodus and all our engineers and consultants need both the ability and a proven track record in problem solving.RequirementsQualifications/Skill/Competencies·
Engineering degree, Masters or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or similar.·
Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Chemical Engineers or equivalent.·
Comprehensive experience in executing and managing front end and conceptual engineering studies.

Extensive experience and demonstrable track record of using HYSYS Dynamics and/or Unisim Dynamics as well as PipeNet or similar liquid surge (water hammer) programs.·
Understanding of process control theory and principals. ·
Appreciation and understanding of flow assurance / multi-phase flow aspects would be beneficial.·
Excellent coordination, coaching / mentoring, and supervisory skills.·
Experienced in preparation of Tender Submissions, Proposals and CTRs.·
Experience of coding with Python scripting would be beneficial.·
First class communication, report writing & presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to summarise key parameters and drivers succinctly.·
