Thriving Pupil Referral Unit located in the London Borough of Greenwich is seeking an experienced MPS or UPS DT Food Technology Teacher.  Full time position to start in September 2024.

Ofsted rated “Good” and successfully run PRU with an outstanding dynamic Senior Leadership Team. Students that attend this PRU have been diagnosed with SEMH, Autism and Behaviour Complexities with EHCPs.

The successful   must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and able to teach fun and engaging lessons at KS3 up to GCSE. As a DT Food Technology Teacher / Teacher of Food Technology you will have taught at either a mainstream Secondary School / PRU / SEMH School or an SEN Provision.

You must have a passion for teaching and a desire to help students with behavioural difficulties to develop their knowledge and skills in Food Technology.

Key Responsibilities:


  • MPS or UPS DT Food Technology Teacher / Teacher of Food Technology Teacher
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Food Technology in the UK
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of SEMH and behaviour management strategies
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student learning and development
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in Food Technology to students across different age groups and abilities
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to effectively support students with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and safe learning environment
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to provide a holistic approach to learning and pastoral care
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in Food Technology and teaching methodologies
  • Attend regular training and development opportunities to improve teaching skills and knowledge
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school events and other duties as required
