Academics Ltd, Canterbury have been contacted by an Ofsted rated "Good" secondary school in Dover who require a Teacher of Drama to join them on a permanent basis.

The school are looking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Teacher of Drama who is able to teach across the KS3 & 4 age range. Applications are welcome from experienced or newly qualified teachers. This post will involve teaching Drama across the school and includes a tutor's responsibility.

The key purpose will be to plan, develop and deliver high-quality lessons and courses within the broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated subject area curriculum using a variety of approaches, to continually enhance teaching and learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Facilitate workshops, rehearsals and performances to enhance students' acting abilities and stage presence.
  • Encourage students to explore various theatrical techniques, including improvisation, voice projection and characterisation.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and expressing themselves creatively.
  • Collaborate with other drama teachers and staff to organise school productions, talent shows and cultural events.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a drama teacher or working in a related field.
  • A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a relevant discipline.
  • Excellent knowledge of drama techniques, theatre history and modern theatrical practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students and build positive relationships.
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring young minds through the performing arts.
