Job DescriptionJOLIE is a leading Interior Design practice based in Manchester & London.This is an exciting period of company growth, as we look to grow our offering across both of our UK studios, and establish a presence overseas.We are looking for a forward-thinking, experienced business leader to join us as a Director of the London office, and drive the growth of the company as we look to expand globally.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property/design and management with a proven track record of success in growing a business. The Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations and providing strategic direction to achieve our long-term goals, as well as having a birdseye view of all functions across the London studio.The Director will be directly responsible for growing the value of the business, in line with overall aims and targets agreed with the Board. In addition, you will be commercially responsible for finances and the finance team, and act as an ambassador for JOLIE as a whole.As part of your role, you will be heavily involved in the new business & supporting the pipeline of business - as well as working closely with the Board on strategic and board-level operational issues.As a Director, you will direct and control the work and resources at JOLIE, and manage successful recruitment and retention of the well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives. You will prepare an annual business plan for the Southern offer, and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the company hits its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.You will support the growth of our business overseas in the next 5 years, building robust plans for expansion and seeking new overseas opportunities in collaboration with the CEO & Manchester Directors.New BusinessDeveloping our business strategy for target sectors and clientsDriving our pipeline and the growth of new and existing clients.Writing & delivering clear and exciting proposals/RFP’sLeading pitches in collaboration with Creative Director, CEO, Sales & Marketing staffThought leadership and content writing to promote JOLIEStay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive & relevantRepresent the company at industry events, conferences & panel talksWorking with the executive team to develop a business sales strategyManaging relationships and communicating with potential investorsIdentifying risk and managing opportunities with existing and potential clientsAccount Management and OperationsKey account management and building client relationships to spot new opportunitiesDefining and approving operational workflowsStudio-wide process & tools developmentManage planning of projects within the studio; from timings and budgets, to resourcing,Help project teams to overcome challenges, getting your hands dirty to help out when we are short of resources and always being the “Can- Do” support for the team.Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standardsDevelop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivityCreating company policy and guidanceBusiness Strategy and VisionCollaboration with the CEO & Manchester Business Director and implementation of the business direction for JOLIELeading budgets, targets and financial forecasting.Leading the recruitment of new team members.Responsible for leading the managing the sales strategy, through collaboration with dedicated marketing & sales function.Leading our journey to BCorp status.Setting and driving processes to uphold our BCorp status moving forward.Team and CultureProviding strategic guidance and advice to the executive teamSupervision of team and oversight of operations across all functions within the companyManage a team of designers (with CD) project managers, and administrative staffLeading our culture and promoting our values in all that we do.Support our production processes to cover: onboarding, tools, documents, templates such as SoWs, POs, estimates and project timing plansBe a conscientious, hands-on team player — respect and look out for team members.FinanceManagement of the P&L, cash flow, planning and reporting of finances.Key liaison between JOLIE and accountant/finance function.Payroll management and PAYE.Xero management — client invoicing, expenses, reconciliation.Corporation & VAT tax assessment and prep with accountants.Annual R&D tax claims prep and submission.Company pension scheme.Ensure appropriate Business insurances are in place.Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.Social and Environmental ResponsibilityLead the business in our mission to be socially and environmentally conscious.Lead, define, uphold and communicate our policies as an organisationEnsure decision-making around new clients, projects, partners and systems with aligns with our mission and values: EthicsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Business Administration, or a related field.10 years of experience in interior design (preferred but not essential), with at least 5 years in a management or leadership roleProven track record of growing a business and achieving financial targetsStrong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partnersKnowledge of financial and accounting principles with the ability to analyze financial data and make sound business decisionsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think creatively and strategicallyAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesAbility to travel as required
