Join Gilead and help create possible, together.Job DescriptionDirector - Sales Excellence TrainingLocation: Stockley Park, UKGilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide.As the Director of Sales Excellence Training reporting to the Senior Director, the Global Commercialization Training Centre of Excellence will lead all sales excellence aspects, including sales competencies, selling model, selling skills, sales training, and coaching skills for sales managers. This team will design and deliver global training content and conduct training for all affiliate CL&D employees, including those in the US. The candidate will be accountable for competency creation, conducting global training needs assessments, design, development, delivery, and evaluation.The successful leader will be a dynamic, experienced individual with a strong track record of team leadership experience across various settings and topics in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. They should have the proven ability to lead a teamand manage complex projects effectively, influence stakeholders without authority, effectively network across the organization, and communicate with senior leaders, all within a fast-moving, challenging, and dynamic Commercial environment.Essential Duties and Job Functions:Extensive experience in curriculum development, project management, executive presence, facilitation expertise and a deep understanding of adult learning principles.Advanced skills in people leadership and development Work with US (key contributor) and Affiliate Commercial Learning & Development to:Develop/enhance sales competency models that are fit-for-future.Develop an inventory of current regional/local selling models, selling skills, and sales coaching programs.Review the inventory of existing training to determine viability for reuse or adaptation at a global level, with a focus on optimizing/building what drives the most impact at scale.Collaborate with global stakeholders to define desired performance outcomes and the required behaviours, skills, and knowledge needed by different roles to deliver them.Determine content changes required for existing training curricula or work with external vendors to design and build new global content.Incorporate motivating, creative, and interactive training techniques to enhance the training experience and maximize learning and retention.Assure competencies and corresponding training to achieve competitiveness and operational excellence.Build a Sales Excellence Training plan.Once global training is developed, lead efforts to conduct regional/local training activities.Build relationships and engage with senior executives and functional stakeholders.Ensure that strategic plans, goals, and objectives are documented, communicated, reviewed, and evaluated continuously.Ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout training development, continuously incorporating feedback to ensure relevance and inclusion.Proactively engage with commercial groups to resolve issues, conflicts, and interdependenciesLead by example, respecting Gilead's core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, excellence, and inclusion.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree, Masters' Degree or PhD with significant proven experiencePoses the ability to establish credibility as a successful commercial leader.Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling training to large audiences.Demonstrated ability to connect and align stakeholders of diverse backgrounds.Excellent influencing skills:  managing without direct power skills.Strong leadership and self-direction, comfort, and experience tackling very ambiguous and complex problemsStrong leadership skills with direct reportsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, interact with, focus, negotiate, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among individuals from various cultures and disciplines.Strong executive presence with the ability to command respect through the exercise of sound business judgment and clear decision-making.Proven ability to lead collaborative and creative problem-solving and overcome resistance or barriers.Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams or work groups and motivate and develop direct reports.Demonstrated excellence in program management, project management, change management, and managing multiple projects/priorities.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.People Leader AccountabilitiesCreate Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modelling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.Develop Talent - understand the skills, experience, aspirations, and potential of their employees and coach them on current performance and future potential.
