An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a passionate Director of Wine to lead the wine programme at one of the best hotels in the World. You will work with a cellar comprising of over 3000 different labels and over 40,000 bottled!

As Director of Wine you will be responsible for:
The wine programme and sommelier teams, overlooking service in all Food and Beverage outlets.
Wines globally to align with Maybournes wine strategy.
Support to Food and Beverage outlets for maximising sales and profit.

Successful candidates will have:
Genuine passion and dedication to deliver highest standards in all Food and Beverage outlets.
Empathy and effective communication skills to work with diverse teams.
Experience in hotel food and beverage operations, Michelin star, and all-day dining restaurants.
Intuitive and exceptional service, focusing on guest needs and creating lasting memories.
Motivation, creativity, and experience in a five-star or fine dining environment.
Knowledge about food and quality products.
Fluency in spoken and written English, a second language is desirable.

Other skills that will need to be demonstrated include:
At least two years experience in a similar role (and at least 5 years experience in wine hospitality at similar level of prestige).
To manage a sizeable wine team of up to 12 sommeliers in diverse Food and Beverage outlets.
Dynamism to navigate the dynamic Food and Beverage settings at The Connaught Hotel.
Interpersonal communication, and leadership skills.
Wine knowledge for overseeing one of the largest wine collections in the UK and Europe.
