Domestic Abuse Services, Recovery Services, Mental Health Services, Dutch Farm, ChaplaincyHours of Work:37.5 Hours per week ( flexible working hours can be agreed)Location:YMCA Together – Across ServicesSalary and benefits:Salary of £60,000-£65,000 per annum30 Days annual leave plus bank holidaysCompany Pension Scheme 4%Date of short listing- 29th April 2024Assessment Day- 7th May 2024Interviews- 8th May 2024Main Purpose of job:The Director of Specialist Services has oversight for the Domestic Abuse Services, Recovery Services, Mental Health Services, Dutch Farm, Chaplaincy. They will support the Heads Of to ensure the provision of safe, high quality services. The post holder will also be the Nominated Individual for RISE rehab service, a CQC registered accommodation service for the treatment of substance misuse and Hestia House, a CQC registered care home.Developing quality and innovative solutions for people who use services and YMCA stakeholders to balance the responsibilities for legal compliance, such as health and safety, employment law, housing law and the necessity to protection vulnerable client groups.Main ResponsibilitiesDelivery and development of high quality psychologically informed services achieved through the involvement of Service Users, staff and other stakeholders.Play an active role in strategic reviews and contribute to the wider thinking and planning of the organisation.To develop and lead a robust approach to evaluating the organisations services under their remit in order to demonstrate the impact and value of what we do.To establish, promote and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.Specific DutiesMain ResponsibilitiesEffective management and development of the Heads of and Operational Leadership Team under the remit of the role to ensure the delivery of the quality and financial objectives.Manage a wide-ranging portfolio, informed by a sound knowledge of the social care sector and the regulatory framework within which the sector is required to work.Leadership across the organisation and management of targets for operational services.Ensure that company priorities and requirements are delivered to reflect – both within and outside the organisation – professional and exemplar services.Responsible for the management and positive development of a range of strategic and operational relationships external to the organisation working with other agencies at strategic level, in support of mutually beneficial approaches service delivery.Take on the role of Safeguarding Lead for Children across the organisationAccurately and efficiently organise operations across the directorate to support business strategy and align with the needs of people in service.Maintain effective communications with the finance/admin staff.Ensure the development and provision of Housing Service, Support Services and outreach/development services related to support and housing.Ensure quality standards and commitment to service development and continual improvementEnsure that the quality levels are sustained through audits and observations.Work in conjunction with the CEO to identify the needs of the local community and develop and promote a complementary programme.Support business development across services including contributing to and leading on tenders.Lead the service user, recruitment and retention programme including developing appropriate annual strategies/promotional events and promoting and marketing facilities within the local community and business market within the remit of the roleDevelop policies and standards for the services and ensure effective communication to and implementation by staff.Lead and develop recruitment, induction, training and development and application of employment policies for the servicesEnsure adherence to health and safety legislative and regulatory requirements and YMCA policy standards.Manage the equipment provision, including recommendations on purchase and maintenance agreements and overseeing staff’s usage and training.Monitor the services’ budgets, including income and expenditure and highlighting problem areas as they arise.Lead the Operational Leadership Team within the remit of the role including chairing Ops meetings, conducting work reviews, identifying training needs and providing supervisions.Lead disciplinary and grievance procedures when necessary.TeamPrepare papers for consideration by the SLT, CEO and the Board of Trustees.Lead and manage by example.Facilitate at meetings and workshops as appropriate.Assist in the development and updating of organisational policies.Supervise, motivate and monitor training staff and freelances in their work.Participate in the recruitment of staff and freelancers and lead on planning and overseeing their induction.Ensure personnel records are correctly maintained.Ensure effective communication with staff within YMCA TogetherWork flexibly to meet the changing needs of the organisation.Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested.Professional Practice and DevelopmentAttend regular supervision sessions with the CEO in accordance with the supervision contract.Maintain good professional practice and ensure ongoing development, through use of supervision and training.Provide progress reports to the SLT and key stakeholders as required.Keep up to date with research and practice to maintain knowledge necessary for this post.Respect the confidentiality of service users using the service and be responsible for the security of personal and confidential information.Carry out all these duties
