Role Responsibilities
We are seeking a result orientated Director of Sales with a proven track record of developing hotel sales and segmentation strategies whilst generating qualified sales using customer and market insights. The successful candidate will be experienced in city centre hotels and an independent white label hotel environment and will be adept at creating engaging business partnerships. The ideal candidate will also have previous experience in hotel openings. This position requires exception organisation and communication skills along with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Duties include;
Develops and converts leads and enquiries; records all data, via hotel PMS and Salesforce.com to the standards set by Focus Hotels.
Is able to meet clients, show and sell the hotels facilities over a 7-day period, as required by clients and the needs of the sales department. This may include weekends, evenings, late nights, or early mornings.
Ensures guest expectations are met or exceeded throughout sales process.
Is highly visible and interfaces with customers on a regular basis to obtain feedback on quality-of-service levels.
Works to predetermined sales key performance indicators.
Ensures account management activity is recorded in Salesforce.
Attend business reviews / executive board meetings as appropriate and actively contributes to all local and regional forums, with the potential to travel internationally to promote the hotel.
Demonstrates a full understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures.
Has a full understanding of The Bedford Hotel brand values.
Key Requirements
Hotel proactive sales management experience, delivering results across multiple segments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, and mentoring skills.
Knowledge of all market segments and total sales revenues to support the business.
Experience of working in a senior sales role within an independent white label environment.
Strong customer relationship management skills and ability to negotiate.
Knowledge of revenue management and account profitability, RFP, and systems.
Strong organisational skills, effective decision-making skills, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to build strong business cases to gain acceptances to unsolicited programmes.
Financial management skills and commercial knowledge delivering budgeted figures.
Ability to develop, implement and support successful sales and marketing strategies.
Knowledge of working with market intelligence tools such as Agency 360 and Forward STR and in conjunction with the revenue team they will evaluate pricing decisions based upon market trends and changes.
Research competitors sales strategies to identify growth opportunity in TRevPAR.
Suggests innovative sales ideas and proactively develops them to grow share.
