Global Operations Director Responsibilities
As the Global Operations Director for our client, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational aspects of the business. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who is data-driven and has brilliant interpersonal skills. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure seamless execution of business objectives.
Internal Operations
Oversee global surveyor operations including recruitment, training, and monitoring of key business metrics (time on site, data quality)
Work closely with the global sales team to advise on capture timelines, costings, profit margin, SLA documentation, and T&Cs
Regularly review internal processes and make recommendations/changes where necessary
Ensure Digital Surveyors undertake necessary Health and Safety courses and stay up to date on current legislation and RICS guidelines
Collaborate with the Director of Technology to scope development work for increased operational efficiency and accuracy
Develop financial budgets and reports for founders and investors
Ensure insurance cover is in place for products, business interruption, and employers' liability for global coverage. Negotiate pricing and policies annually
Oversee trade license and office lease renewal in the UAE
Stay up to date with new lidar technologies and firmware updates affecting time in property, data quality, and data registration
Production
Oversee SA-based production team including recruitment, training, and continuous monitoring of key metrics (production timelines, accuracy)
Ensure client deadlines are met and resolve/communicate any issues to clients promptly
Regularly review internal processes and make recommendations/changes where necessary
Plan production recruitment to meet quarterly/annual sales targets
Work with production manager and external contractors to ensure quality and accuracy of drawings
Collaborate with the Director of Technology to develop technology solutions for streamlined workflows and increased efficiency
Human Resources
Support HR manager with day-to-day operations including recruitment strategy & induction training
Review, develop, and update business policies
Advise/conduct investigations and disciplinary actions
Engage with legal counsel when necessary to protect the business
Team Leadership and Development
Provide strong leadership to the global operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities
Stakeholder Communication
Serve as a primary point of contact for senior management, providing regular updates on operational performance, key initiatives, and strategic insights to support decision-making.
