Director of ITDepartment: ITEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Leeds, UKDescriptionAs Director of IT, you will provide strategic leadership of the IT function to empower the effectiveness, growth, and international expansion of the business. Owning and implementing the IT strategy, you will plan and deliver against current and future IT requirements to support the business strategy. As the custodian of our technology infrastructure and Support team, you will deliver a high-quality IT service, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, stable and robust, nationally and internationally.
Drawing upon your deep experience in building IT environments and scaling architecture for evolving businesses, you will ensure Progeny’s infrastructure and security remain fit-for-purpose and scaled to the nature of the business; driving change and improvements to deliver innovative, efficient solutions. Leading the dynamic, growing IT team with integrity and transparency, you will champion career development and develop a high-performing team to serve Progeny’s future ambitions.We will consider both Hybrid and Home-based working for this opportunity. There will be a requirement to work from the Leeds office on a fortnightly basis (approximately).Key Responsibilities
Provide expert strategic knowledge, experience, and an innovative approach to IT.
Work closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to develop the IT strategy and provide strategic leadership on IT projects.
Set a strong people strategy for the IT team, managing, developing, and expanding the team in line with the business strategy and budget, and overseeing recruitment.
Oversee the provision of a high-quality IT Support service and maintain responsibility for the architecture, delivery, security, resiliency, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure.
Develop reliable processes, monitoring, controls, metrics, and KPIs for the effective management of the IT team and IT infrastructure and systems.
Maintain overall responsibility for an effective cyber security programme within the business, eliminating security vulnerabilities and putting in place strategic solutions to monitor and maintain data security.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Substantial experience in a senior position within IT management, supervising technology teams and providing inspirational leadership, strong management, and coaching.
Demonstrable expert-level understanding and experience overseeing large Azure-based IT infrastructures and Microsoft 365.
Excellent general understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems.
Knowledge of IT project and change management principles and experience in leading/delivering successful IT projects.
Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally in the provision of financial or legal services, e.g. knowledge of Operational Resilience regulations.
Significant experience in strategic planning, implementing, and managing large-scale, complex IT infrastructures.
