We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of effective governance and stewardship and the statutory S151 Officer role. But there is much more to this role than continuing to balance the books. It’s an opportunity to step up to a strategic leadership role within the Council – to work with other partner organisations to influence system leadership within our area, and to identify and plan for emerging opportunities for our district. You should offer an informed and rounded appreciation of different revenue opportunities for local government: from core funding and grants to business rates and commercial opportunities, while continually reviewing organisational efficiency and productivity. Creative and commercially minded, you’ll be able to build on our existing financial resilience and adapt to future opportunities and challenges.
