About the role:You will lead the technical delivery and software engineering of Royal Mail technology platforms, products and projects.
Delivery: You will be accountable for delivery partner performance by embedding clear metrics and KPIs, and putting actions in place to continually improve delivery performance. Own the CoE for Delivery and Business Analysis, providing capability into delivery portfolios in a matrix model. Lead approach to hypercare and tiger teams to ensure products/projects are set up for success, or to intervene on problem deliveries. Play a lead role in embedding new agile ways of working within RM.
Engineering: You will lead the software Engineering strategy and build Engineering capability through a mix of internal RM and third party delivery partners. Driving consistency in engineering across internal and the multiple 3rd party partner teams.
About You:We are looking for someone with strong experience of agile delivery methodologies and the shift from projects to products. Diving a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise delivery processes, enhance productivity and mitigate risks. A people manager that can hire, mentor and manage performance with the ability to provide strategic direction. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
Your Experience:• Proven experience in a senior Delivery leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced and technology-driven organisation. • Exposure to / played a key role in digital transformation • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, including hiring, performance management, and professional development. • Demonstrated experience in building a high performing Delivery function, balancing 3rd party capacity with inhouse expertise• Proficient in modern ways of working and ability to scale Product ways of working• Professional experience gained across a wide range of IT related disciplines (planning, analysis, development, operation & service management) with the knowledge and understanding of the role of Delivery Management • Knowledge and experience of working in a Product and Platform environment
