GAP Talent: Director of Construction and Facilities
GAP Talent is seeking an experienced Director of Construction and Facilities who will be responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of maintenance, special projects, repairs, alterations, and remodels for buildings and venues. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient completion of tasks within regulatory guidelines and projected deadlines, as well as managing annual budgets for maintenance and facilities departments. This role is based in the Caribbean, and the client provides full relocation assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop long and short-term facility plans and programs, including emergency response plans and energy management plans, to effectively utilize resources.
Provide guidance to departmental staff on company initiatives for venues and special projects.
Direct site repairs, construction, preventive maintenance, etc., ensuring completion within established timeframes, project design, and budget.
Produce project programs, schedules, and scopes of work.
Inspect new construction, repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance, and supplies to maintain operational standards.
Maintain and manage the eSSETS system for facility management.
Ensure efficient completion of jobs, adherence to regulations for CAPEX improvements, and approval of inspection reports and payment requests.
Monitor assigned programs and related financial activity to ensure adherence to budget limits and schedules.
Support the Director of Operations on ROI-driven company-approved initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Ability to read technical information, compose various documents, and analyze situations.
Monthly executive reporting and biweekly department meetings.
Flexibility to work independently and with other departments, analyze data, and solve problems.
Supervisory experience in directing, training, and establishing effective working relationships.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5-10 years of job-related experience in electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, building maintenance, and construction.
