I'm looking for a Digital Transformation Specialist to join BAE Systems.

This is a hybrid-working role of 3 days per week onsite in Warton, Preston.

You must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC) to be considered for this position.

What you'll be doing;

As part of the role, you will be looking at developing and integrating technologies to help significantly reduce costs and improve the availability of our platforms within our in-service operations - now and on future platforms. Activities could range from areas such as AI and machine learning, autonomy, mixed reality, advanced sensors, through to digital twin representations of our platforms and operations.

Key to our In-service Support technology strategy is an end-to-end digital by default approach, from manufacture on the factory floor through to support in an operational customer environment and creating agility, fidelity, and efficiency across all aspect of the services and products we define and operate.

  • Engaging and collaborating with line of business and technologists to lead and drive the support technology strategy
  • Capture of requirements and use cases that that will drive the need for innovation and technology exploitation to drive business benefit
  • Working across programmes that cover physical and synthetic domains - a key aspect to enabling the strategy
  • Define and implement the technology road maps
  • Identify funding opportunities across the business for research and developing exciting proposals for technology development programmes
  • Generation of collaborative programmes, and identification of opportunities for funding, with key eternal partners, suppliers, SME's
  • Interface between BAE Systems and external research organisations on support technology research
  • Working with BAE Systems and customer stakeholders in leading the delivery of solutions

Essential Skills;

  • Previous involvement in developing and delivering technology related programmes of work
  • Awareness of key technology areas such as AI, Machine Learning, Mixed Reality and Autonomy
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Critical thinking skills, with an eye for detail and ability to derive insights from complex data sources
  • Highly collaborative, with a willingness to embrace innovative approaches and constructively challenge the status-quo
  • Good financial and commercial awareness
  • Experience of technology capability insertion from concept through to deployment

Desirable Skills;

  • Experience of support programmes and key considerations and drivers in the design and operation of solutions - Be that through time on base or from product/service design perspective
  • Knowledge of digital technology development toolsets and processes
  • Knowledge/experience of working in a DevSecOps development framework
  • This is an excellent role for someone that has been involved in digital transformation projects in any of the following sectors; Aerospace & Defence, Engineering, Pharma or Manufacturing.

The salary is �54,793 to �60,326 plus an excellent benefits package.
