Shillito Executive Search has been exclusively retained by a forward thinking and market leading Sheffield based machining technology business as they look to recruit a Digital Manufacturing Lead responsible for driving digital manufacturing initiatives across the business. 



A newly created opportunity reporting into the Senior Management Team, the Digital Manufacturing Lead will be responsible for leading a team and driving digital manufacturing initiatives, enabling culture change  and continuous improvement initiatives.



Based in a world leading, state of the art facility, the successful candidate will positively contribute to increased manufacturing operational efficiencies and competitiveness across the business. 



As part of the role, you will represent the business at various group/partner level engagement forums and will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on budget.



You will also have people management responsibilities including managing sickness and absence, running appraisals, authorising holidays, managing workload, monitoring and reporting of working arrangements and outputs.



Responsible for all aspects of delivering the Connected Manufacturing project, specific duties and responsibilities of this role will include:




  • Understanding the development of the project and transforming into formal specification requirements.

  • Collaborating with involved stakeholders to deliver the understanding and responsibilities of each to deliver the project

  • Liaising with Information Technology/ Information Systems teams and external software integrators to implement digital systems and improvements collaboratively

  • Leading end to end user acceptance activities

  • Oversee enhancements, bug fixes and version upgrades

  • Oversee any trial activities

  • Lead and communicate digital changes across all teams

  • Producing/maintaining topical manufacturing documentation, process documents and training material

  • Attending milestone visits

  • Evaluate potential improvement applications and adhere to the company’s connected manufacturing strategy



The Digital Manufacturing Lead will also involve:




  • Leading a team of UK based application engineers

  • Collaborating with a team of OEM application engineers

  • Leading the vision and driving a culture to smart manufacturing methods and technologies.

  • Deliver procedure steps to outline how Connected Manufacturing will be delivered – scoped.

  • Maintain and develop the project team to keep them engaged within all aspects of the company intentions.

  • Every month deliver KPI’s and report.

  • Maintain and install a positive – safe working environment for all employees

  • Provide regular updates to Management Team

  • Make sure that all commitments of contracts are covered within the scope of supply
