Pragmatic is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, with our first fab operating in Sedgefield, and a second fab under construction at our new 15-acre Pragmatic Park site in Durham.The RoleThe Digital IC Design Manager is responsible for developing and delivering embedded digital IP and top level IC designs, targeting Pragmatic's FlexIC process.As leader of the digital design team, the successful applicant will demonstrate a solid technical understanding of digital architecture, design, and verification. With an ambition to deliver on-schedule, right-first-time designs, a focus on planning and quality is required, along with technical oversight of key development activities.In addition to managing technical output, the Digital IC Design Manager has line management responsibility for a growing team. As the team evolves, the successful applicant will provide an overall development strategy, meet frequently with team members, and set well-crafted objectives, helping individuals to grow in their roles whilst delivering on their project commitments.Key tasksProvide technical leadership and line management of the Digital IC Design teamTake the lead role on key digital design activitiesDevelop a strategy for digital IP development, including an IP roadmapWork closely with the analog, layout, and technology teams to specify and deliver new designsDevelop appropriate digital design and verification methodologiesCreate and maintain resource plans, allowing time for IP/innovation and project commitmentsDrive a right-first-time philosophy within the digital teamCreate design collateral in support of internal Design Quality System processesAttend project and design review meetings to represent team and to resolve issuesQualifications and trainingDegree or post-graduate in electronic engineering, or equivalent experience.Skills and experienceSolid understanding of Digital Design, including Architecture, Verification and ImplementationPrevious line management experience of a digital teamExperience in mentoring team members, developing career goals, and enabling growthAbility to develop effective top level plans and delegate work packages to the teamRepresenting the team to engineering peers and project stakeholdersExperience in digital EDA methodology and roll out of new flowsProactive problem solving skills, willing to work across boundaries to ensure successAbility to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAt Pragmatic, we have a highly skilled, passionate and driven team from diverse backgrounds.
