Job Title: Digital Hardware and Firmware Engineer
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Digital Hardware and Firmware Engineer specializing in railway signalling control systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of digital hardware and firmware solutions. This role involves collaborating closely with software teams, preparing development plans, and ensuring seamless interfacing between hardware and firmware components.
Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development:

    • Lead the design and development efforts for digital hardware and firmware in railway signalling control systems.
    • Create and implement plans for hardware and firmware development, ensuring adherence to project timelines.

  1. Interfacing and Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with software teams to ensure a cohesive integration of hardware and firmware components.
    • Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.

  1. Debugging and Troubleshooting:

    • Utilize expertise in debugging and troubleshooting to address issues promptly and ensure optimal system performance.

  1. Interface Design:

    • Work on serial and parallel bus interfaces, including UARTs, USB, SPI, I2C, etc.
    • Conduct design analysis, including timing diagrams, to optimize interface performance.

  1. Requirements and Documentation:

    • Work with process documents and contribute to the creation of requirements and test specifications.
    • Perform configuration and version control to manage changes effectively.

  1. Memory Technologies and Embedded Systems:

    • Demonstrate proficiency in memory technologies, embedded software, and operating systems.
    • Set up test and development environments to facilitate rigorous testing and validation.

  1. Verification and Validation (V&V):

    • Contribute to the verification and validation processes to ensure the reliability and functionality of hardware and firmware solutions.
    • Conduct characterization of hardware components to meet project requirements.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in the design and development of digital hardware and firmware for railway signalling control systems.
  3. Expertise in serial and parallel bus interfaces, UARTs, USB, SPI, I2C, etc.
  4. Familiarity with design analysis, including timing diagrams.
  5. Strong experience in working with requirements and test specifications, design and code reviews, and configuration/version control.
  6. Knowledge of memory technologies, embedded software, and operating systems.
  7. Ability to set up and manage test and development environments.
  8. Experience with verification and validation processes, including characterization of hardware.
