Understand Mace contractual obligations in the delivery of the design and project BIM execution plan (BEP) on a project-by-project basis.Support the project information manager and project delivery manager in management and coordination of information modelling processes on design/construction projects with pre-construction, construction and close out of project information requirements.Support design/construction lead for the coordination and management of task teams digital information models. Undertake coordination and clash detection of digital information models issued by task teams and communicate issues arising.Be an advocate of digital project delivery on the project always looking for ways to improve our day-to-day operations.
You’ll be responsible for:
Working across multiple projects to provide the role of a digital engineering and BIM manager.
Ensuring all correct BIM documentation on projects are in line with Mace Way and the project exchange information requirements.
Assisting with the appointment of design teams and procurement of subcontractors on BIM enabled projects by assessing BIM capability and capacity.
Writing BIM (Digital) strategies and BIM execution plans (for bids and live projects).
Supporting or acting as the project information manager with implementation of project standards, methods and procedures in accordance with ISO 19560 part 1 and 2 and other standards as set out in the project BIM execution plan.
Supporting the project delivery manager with compilation and management of the MIDP and alignment with responsibility matrix (LOI & LOD), assessing the task teams capacity to deliver information in accordance with the MIDP and assure the project information model is delivered in accordance with the MIDP.
Federating digital information and structured data models; preparing clash detection reports and communicate the issues identified to BIM/design/construction leads and task teams.
Supporting the BIM/design/construction leads in coordination workshops with task teams to resolve issues identified through clash detection, MEP accessibility and firestopping review.
Supporting BIM and digital lead in setting up, planning and leading BIM coordination phase.
Engaging in research and deployment of innovative digital tools and solutions.
Setting up, managing, and overseeing project related digital platforms.
Arranging BIM and digital platforms training for project staff.
Supporting projects with implementing 3D coordination and federation, visualisation, 4D animations, 5D quantity take-off and costs, AIM and BIM field tools.
Monitoring projects on digital platforms such as BIM360 and other similar digital platforms.
Managing laser scanning and as-built processes.
Engaging in continuous project process improvement in line with lean methodologies.
Supporting project team with development of business intelligence dashboards.
Providing other preconstruction management and engineering related support related to project team as required.
You’ll need to have:
Understanding at ‘Managerial and Practioners’ level, BIM according to ISO 19650 Part 1 and 2.
Advanced knowledge of the BIM authoring tools (defined with BIM Execution Plan).
An advanced knowledge of 3D, 4D, 5D modelling (where defined in the Project BEP) required to fulfil responsibilities in supporting the BIM/design/ construction lead for the project.
Skills required to verify graphical models and non- graphical data. This is to include BIM federation tools and data analysis tools i.e. Navisworks Manage, Solibri Model Checker etc.
Basic skills to use office software suite applications for word processing, spreadsheets and email.
Understanding of data analytics concepts.
Knowledge and skills related to core IT technologies.
Understanding of primary building systems (CSA/MEP) on high-tech projects.
Understanding of sequencing of construction works.
Experience in software tools such as: BIM 360 Glue, Build (Field), Plan suite, cloud-based CDE etc , Revit, Navisworks, Solibri, iConstruct.
