Based in our Resident Engagement Team within Housing and Landlord Services, you will be a digital engagement lead helping to drive forward and improve engagement with residents and service users across a diverse range of digital channels and platforms.The role combines day to day activities such as social media management and working with stakeholders to deliver effective & accessible digital engagement/communication to residents & local communities.About YouWe are looking for someone highly skilled and experienced in digital marketing and communications, including content development and delivery, who can engage with communities and service users across a range of housing services delivering meaningful digital engagement that meets resident priorities.In summary you will:Be an excellent communicator, proficient in writing concisely, accurately and in an engaging way for a variety of audiences.Experienced in offering professional engagement and communications advice to managers and senior leaders in support of their service objectives.Able to understand complex business needs and originate integrated engagement/communication strategies.Have detailed knowledge of digital platforms, tools and techniques which may be used to engage internal and external audiences.What will I be doing? As our in-house lead,
you will be responsible for the development of digital engagement strategies and campaigns that deliver on service outcomes and operational objectives such as promotion, behaviour change, service campaigns, good news stories.We will ask you to be responsible for and/ or support engagement activities, ranging from content development, editing & management for social media & other digital platforms, developing e-campaigns and newsletters and internal communication campaigns to engage staff and other stakeholders.As part of the Tenant Participation and Engagement team, you will also be responsible for supporting the timely communication and promotion of engagement activities and opportunities that ensure residents are consulted with and included in the decisions that affect the homes and communities in which they live. What do I need to have?Excellent communication skills, with a degree or relevant equivalent industry or vocational qualification, and/or substantial experience of working in a marketing or communications role.You’ll understand the workings of local government, including the political environment and areas of political sensitivity, the policy framework & current and emerging issues, and challenges.It’s also vital that you have a detailed knowledge of digital platforms, tools & techniques which may be used to engage internal and external audiences, including a range of social media platforms e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc and have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as required.Please note that that this role will require occasional evening and weekend working.Why Bristol Council?We’re one of the country’s largest Council landlords, with almost 29,000 homes.
