These are available both in print and across our portfolio of websites on The Pharmacy Network, the UK's most widely used digital learning platform for pharmacists and pharmacy support teams.
Job Profile:
We are currently seeking a talented and driven Digital Editor to enhance the digital capability and capacity across our business. As Digital Editor, you will play a leading role in shaping and delivering the digital content strategy across our portfolio, working with a dynamic team to grow our digital business.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Devise and lead a programme to enhance the digital capability and capacity of CIG’s wider editorial teams, including through the definition and development of digital editorial guidelines, SEO practice and style guides, and the creation of innovative digital solutions to maximise engagement.
Creation:
Through analysis of digital activity data (search, views etc) to find out what our audience are looking for, create and commission digital-only content to drive audience growth and engagement, identifying and filling any content gaps.
Identify and propose new content formats and enhancements to our platform’s UI / UX that can be strategically deployed across CIG’s portfolio.
Stay informed about CIG brands and competitors, monitoring and highlighting new content ideas that can support our business objectives.
Work with the commercial teams to define innovative creative solutions, attending commercial brainstorming and client pitch meetings as required.
Create systems and workflows that enhance the efficient syndication of content across CIG’s digital portfolio and the effective use of social media.
Content Planning:
Monitor CIG’s editorial output to ensure adherence to digital guidelines, including publishing frequency, SEO practices, accuracy, style, etc.
Utilise business insights, web analytics, learning dashboards, data analysis, and competitive analysis to monitor content performance on The Pharmacy Network (TPN).
Oversee the content management system (CMS), image library, video libraries, menu manager and tag manager, ensuring they align with strategic goals. Conduct CMS usability testing and provide recommendations for improvements and new content blocks.
Update TPN CMS training manuals and videos and provide CMS training to new CIG editors and private member partners.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or mass communication (relevant field).
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
Experience in healthcare is advantageous.
Excellent writing and editing skills; mastery of digital writing requirements, including keywords, hyperlinks, and navigation.
Strong attention to detail, including exceptional spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
Good interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with contributors, designers, producers and developers.
Excellent organisational skills to manage material from multiple sources and meet tight deadlines.
