About the role
FHS&T's remit is to pursue and build strategic advantages in prioritised areas of science and technology application to deliver growth in strategic key verticals that enable our brands/BUs to take up future leadership positions through Deep Human understanding and unique, differentiated Trusted Science. The FHS&T group translates new approaches learnt in the process of building strategic science & technology into new capabilities for R&D.
The Product+ Science & Technology platform is focused around defining the deep science program for digital diagnostics and therapeutics focused on delivering behaviour change solutions through product-digital combinatorial approaches. Within this platform the aim is to build Horizon 3 (H3) spaces for our Categories/BUs to leverage and also ensure we build thought leadership in product+ as an enabling driver of better, more accessible consumer self-care.
This role specifically leads for the platform all elements of:
Owns the portfolio of science & technology partnerships for digital diagnostics relating to driving adoption, consumer behaviour changes and better more inclusive consumer selfcare that can be leveraged by our Categories/BUs including building the approach to engage, advocate and define Evolving IP, Regulatory, data and the Medical landscape
Build and guide the Trusted Science Digital Diagnostics for behaviour change solutions for opportunities that could integrate Category/BU H3 opportunities
Create engagement and connection with path to scale / broader Haleon partnership (across BUs/Categories) for the portfolio of chosen diagnostics solutions/opportunities
Role Responsibilities
Own and build the Digital Diagnostics technology roadmap: set the strategy for Haleon for the specific defined domain, own the Technology Product Roadmap (technology into consumer), deliver the prioritised building blocks within the roadmap, lead IP & strategy for defined domain
Build the enabling ecosystem for Digital Diagnostics: Build & manage the external ecosystem for the defined domain, lead external leverage and technology acquisition/access strategy, supplier Base innovation Partnerships and conduit for technology partners through EI portal
Lead Industry consortia and build advocacy plans for unregulated spaces: Consortium access for new to industry solutions, new financial mechanisms to access new technology solutions (internal & external), new approaches to engaging advocacy in unregulated spaces
Build new capabilities: Identify and build future proof capabilities to support diagnostics leading internal vs external, physical vs digital, micro-lab to pilot scale up fit for purpose planning
Thought leadership: Externally recognised as leading voice / player in consumer self-care digital diagnostics with a clear influence strategy (regulatory & medical advocacy strategy, HCP networks etc)
Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration within Product+ Platform as well as more broadly across FHS&T.
Actively facilitate networking and partnership activities with Categories and BUs
Build a network of functional experts within the broader CH R&D organisation (e.g. FHS&T, Innovation Research, Category/BU R&D Leads etc) to support H3 diagnostics+product opportunities
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science - Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or Biological science
10+ years in FMCG or Healthcare
Global experience in science & technology partnerships building
Expertise in developing novel solutions through combining internal and external technology
Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking
Leadership, communication and influencing skills, ability to lead change
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science - Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or Biological science
Substantial product development experience in healthcare or consumer goods
Understanding of healthcare development principles and requirements ideally for medical devices, dietary supplements, medicines, and software
Delivered multi technology products to market ideally including software
Worked within a marketing led environment where complex technical issues must be communicated effectively and debated with stakeholders with diverse experience
A first-class problem solver who relishes a challenge and will find the pragmatic path to get things done
Good networking ability within a large organization and with external partners
Strong experience in innovative new to business developments
