Digital Designer South East or Remote UK

We're on the lookout for a talented Digital Designer with great ideas and a passion for crisp UIs. You should have either a higher education qualification in a related design field (graphic design, typography, UI/UX) or a few years of experience in an agency environment.Your portfolio is everything - but we don't want to see a page of polished images. We value people who solve problems in creative and compelling ways, and to do that, we need to understand your process. We want to see your working, your decision-making process and the ideas you chucked out. Your portfolio should demonstrate, through written or visual means, who you are as a designer and what, by hiring you, you'll be able to bring to the team.We don't have a particular preference on toolset; we want to see you shine using the things you know and enjoy using. That said, experience in Sketch, Figma or Xd will go a long way.We value managers of one, and although our process is collaborative, you will have free reign to develop work in a calm and meaningful way on a schedule that allows you to do your best work.The work you'll be doingYou'll be working as part of a small but highly productive team of digital craftspeople and will be exposed to the entire process of delivering a digital product for our clients.Projects range from small brochureware sites to large eCommerce builds, mobile apps and everything in between.Most of the time, you'll be working alongside the lead designer to develop overarching design concepts and then be left to work on the bulk of the delivery yourself, with semi-regular reviews both internally and with the client.Expect the work to be fast-paced and iterative, backed by solid research and planning at the start of every project. You'll also be responsible for the development handover and the working relationship internally to deliver the end product. This sometimes means getting your hands dirty, adding content, documenting interactions or reviewing the developed work.Who we areWe're a small and productive team with a genuine focus on design-led digital product development. That means the design, build and maintenance of websites, mobile and web apps. We also service many clients on design and strategy retainers, meaning you'll get an opportunity to become deeply embedded in the ongoing change-making process. You won't find copywriters, marketers or social media managers here. We're interested in creating and building stuff, from the simple to the complex. Our clients come to us because they know they can trust us to interpret a brief and create something meaningful for their business.Where you'll be basedWe're ideally looking for someone in the South East of England where our studio is based, although we're open to remote applicants, too. If you do happen to be local, we're happy with setting up working from home.
