Job Purpose
The Digital Design Coordinator will support one or multiple design groups, producing coordinated MEP BIM models and drawings through RIBA stages 2-4.
The individual will also be responsible for ensuring timely delivery and that quality standards are upheld in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
Role Overview
The Digital Design Coordinator will be responsible for the development of small, medium, and large-scale models and drawings, ensuring services are coordinated. Requiring a good level of relevant competence and experience in BIM modelling, using predominantly Autodesk products (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and BIM360/ACC).
The successful candidate will be conversant drawing with MEP workflows, as well a hands-on approach to problem solving (services co-ordination) and a ‘can do’ approach. An eye for detail and a focus on quality must be at the forefront with keen drafter and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
Developing small, medium, and large-scale MEP models and drawings
Understanding schematic design and has the ability to translate this to the design/model from said information.
Ability to amend schematic design to suit coordinated layout.
Ability to spatially coordinate and strategize the main distribution routes.
Have a good engineering design understanding of MEP systems and types.
Must have a good understanding of BIM processes and procedures.
Be competent in the use of Autodesk AEC software (Revit, BIM360 etc.) and add-in packages.
Ability to spatially coordinate whilst paying cognisance to primary and secondary support structures and maintenance access requirements enabling a buildable design model solution.
Skills and Experience
Uniclass classification system
Competent user of BIM/CAD tools – Revit, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Navisworks, Solibri
Digital project collaboration tools – BIM360, Autodesk construction cloud
Collaborative design environments (CDE)
Good communicator.
MEP background
Ability to work on single or multiple BIM projects simultaneously.
