Job DescriptionDigital Content LeadDepartment: Marketing and CommunicationsLocation: Motorsport UK, Bicester Motion.Hours of Work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week). Core hours are 09:00 until 17:30, Mon – Fri.Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 9 - 12 monthsLine Manager: Director of Marketing and CommunicationsDirect Reports: NoneSalary: £35,000 - £40,000 pa Role PurposeMotorsport UK is changing the digital positioning of the organisation through a new CRM and public facing digital experience. Motorsport UK is a member organisation, and it’s pivotal that everything we do is member centric, putting their needs and requirements at the forefront. Our community have spoken, and highlighted pain points with Motorsport UK’s existing digital footprint and we know anecdotally prospective competitors and volunteers struggle to identify ways into the sport. We are seeking to create a futureproof, mobile first, digital experience for existing members to seamlessly engage with the organisation through SSO, personalised portals and event, club and coach finders. In this way we aim to enhance the way prospective members engage and find their way into the sport. We call this project a Digital Experience because it is beyond a website. We want to set the foundation for a digital sport for Motorsport UK so we can develop and grow the organisation.The Digital Content Lead will work with an appointed agency and play a crucial role in creating captivating content that aligns with the projects goals and resonates with the target audience. Primary ObjectivesThe primary objective associated with this role will be:Copywriting:Develop clear, concise, and engaging copy tailored specifically for the designated project's digital platform.Adapt existing content to suit the unique requirements of the project, maintaining consistency in tone and brand messaging.Collaborate closely with design teams to ensure a seamless integration of copy and visuals.Edit and proofread content to guarantee accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines.Curation:Conduct thorough research to gather content from designated webpages and sources relevant to the project Organize and categorise gathered content efficiently to streamline the creative process.Work closely with stakeholders to understand and address content requirements specific to the project.Review existing Resource Centre and categorisingImagery Compilation:Source and compile imagery that complements and enhances the written content for the designated project.Ensure visual elements align seamlessly with the brand identity and overall project objectives.Collaborate effectively with designers to integrate imagery into the digital assets for the project.Stakeholder Engagement:Establish clear and effective communication channels with clients, team members, and other stakeholders involved in the project.Act as a liaison between creative teams and clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of project objectives and delivering on client expectations.Core CompetenciesBelow are the core competencies, knowledge, and skills required to be successful in this role:Essential:Excellent command of written English and strong copywriting skills including excellent spelling and grammar, ensuring publication of correct information.Familiarity with SEO, best practices and digital marketing trendsExpert understanding of Wordpress and knowledge of other CMS platforms e.g. Drupal, UmbracoWorking knowledge of analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Trends)Strong networking skills to build up relationships within Motorsport UKA flexible approach to working within a team as well as excellent punctuality and timekeeping.Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office suite), SharePoint, OneDrive.Excellent administrative skills.Strong verbal communication skills.Well organised, efficient, and forward planning.Ability to take responsibility and work well with the team of Managers, Executives and Graphic Designers.Eligible to work in the UK.Desirable:A digital, communications, marketing, journalism, or media degree.A knowledge of Adobe products and email marketing platform would be of benefit.
