Digital Communications Manager

We’re looking for a capable Digital Communications Manager to lead and champion digital communications and engagement activity in order to maximise the impact of the work of the communications team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that digital approaches and clear measurable objectives are integrated into campaign planning. A key part of our Central Services team, the Communications, Events and Stakeholder Engagement team is responsible for all external and internal communications and engagement activities and for the delivery of our extensive and diverse programme of events.The digital communications manager will act as a digital expert, championing the user experience and utilising knowledge of digital technologies, trends and analytics to support and advise on how digital communications can be best used to promote Estyn’s work.Your role will include the following key tasks:• Develop and implement a digital channels strategy aligned with Estyn’s strategic objectives.• Stay abreast of industry trends and digital communication best practices to ensure our approach is always innovative and effective.• Lead on the development of organic and paid for social activity for Estyn campaigns – reporting back on successes and learnings.• Advise on new channel selection to maximise the impact of Estyn’s communications.• Analyse social media metrics to measure the success of campaigns and provide real time feedback and advice.• Maintain and update Estyn’s website to ensure it provides useful, engaging, targeted information to key audiences and aligns with the brand image.• Collaborate with the appointed web developers to implement improvements and optimize user experience.• Plan and deliver targeted email campaigns to promote reports, events and other corporate announcements.• Monitor email performance metrics and make data-driven decisions for optimization.• Lead on the development of a segmented marketing database to support and enable Estyn’s targeted marketing campaigns.• Advise the team on the creation of high quality, engaging content for a range of digital channels, including Estyn’s social media, website, intranet, blog, and newsletters using infographics, videos, and other multimedia formats.• Work closely with the PR & Campaigns Manager to plan content and ensure coherent messaging across all of Estyn’s communications channels.• Collaborate with colleagues within the communications team and across the wider business to gather content and ensure messaging consistency.• Proactively research customer needs and analyse data - using the findings to inform the development of impactful and effective content. JOB REQUIREMENTS It’s essential that you:• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.• Proven experience in digital communications, with a focus on social media, website management, and email campaigns.• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital marketing tools.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Experience of developing and delivering innovative digital marketing campaigns.• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions.• Experience with graphic design and video editing tools.• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.• Strong project management skills.• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.• Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in digital communication.• Experience of working with the wider communication mix.• The ability to work through the medium of Welsh.It’s desirable that you:• Have an understanding of branding and brand compliance.• Have experience of copywriting Welsh language content.Hours of work - Full time hours are 37 hours over a five day week (Monday to Friday), excluding breaks.Location - Cardiff, where free car parking is available.
