The Digital Solution Architect
plays a crucial role in making this a reality in partnership with the consumer enterprise architect, product/project teams, and strategic partners. You will be the single point of contact on all aspects related to digital and technology w.r.t. Diageo's direct-to-consumer (DTC), marketing technology, online and retail assets and lead the design of all our digital products and solutions crafting a truly omnichannel experience for our consumers.

The Consumer Solution Delivery team has been leading the design and delivery of various products and solutions built for our consumers, employees, and marketers to drive our global digital, ecommerce, and marketing ambition in partnership with Corporate, Global Sales, Brand, and Marketing Teams.
Key Accountabilities
Provide recommendations to shape the vision and technology roadmap for the Consumer domain in partnership with the Head of Solution Architecture and Engineering and Consumer Enterprise Architect
Provide guidance to product development teams and actively support the delivery of the digital commerce products
Provide thought leadership to challenge and influence all technical designs to best utilise the capabilities of our platforms
Engage with business leaders in conceptualisation and lead in shaping ideas into projects
Create the high-level product specifications and detailed design documents for the front-office products/solutions within the Consumer domain
Produce solution design artefacts to support the needs of the project delivery
Act as point of contact to ensure all parties (including internal and external technical / development teams) understand the solution design
Ensure that solutions adhere to all architectural, security, and quality standards
Continually expand architecture knowledge, constantly seeking ways to broaden exposure to the latest and greatest trends and developments in the technology space
Incorporate the latest trends and innovations into the Consumer ecosystem in partnership with enterprise architecture and business relationship management teams
Assess the system architecture currently in place and work with EA, Transform and Run teams to recommend solutions to improve it (continuous improvement of the way Solution Design is performed)
Identify risks affecting solutions, including mitigating recommendations and support in handling those risks
Unique Capabilities required
Demonstrable experience in architecture and design
Significant knowledge and experience in Direct to Consumer, eCommerce, and MarTech including key business processes and technologies
Experience in solution design on customer-focused digital services such as web, mobile, eCommerce and eBusiness
Demonstrated ability to deliver integrated Business-IT strategy
Ability to understand business needs and technical constraints
Experience in developing solutions architecture artifacts
Experience of Agile (or agile / waterfall hybrid) development practices and techniques
Experience in DevSecOps
Experience of working to tight timescales in a technical environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss the technical design with business partners and translate design concepts to IT operations
Architecture Skills:
Competent in designing and implementing fully integrated globally scalable omnichannel commerce architecture spanning both digital (online) and physical (in-store) channels
Ability in designing an interconnected architecture that enables the creation of data-driven experiences that can extend the right offer at the right time via the right channel
Experienced in MACH Architecture
Good understanding of both batched and streaming integration architecture using well known iPaaS solutions
Good understanding of data lake and data warehousing concepts and how various data systems can be integrated to enable quick generation of insights
Demonstrable understanding of various fulfilment models (Agent, Consignment, etc.) that can be employed to support the Global D2C Solutions
Experience in designing dev-ops processes and teams involving multiple collaborators
Experience in IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS
Technical Skills:
Must Have:
Quantifiable experience in creating a seamless digital commerce experience, aligned with MACH architecture, across digital (online) and physical (in-store) channels
Demonstrable understanding of the below technologies involved in an omnichannel commerce architecture
Online Webstore (e.g., Shopify)
Retails Point of Sale System (e.g., Vend)
Online and In-store Ticketing Solution (e.g., Secutix, AnyRoad)
Restaurant Point of Sale Systems (e.g., Zonal)
Online Table Reservation Systems (e.g., Zonal LiveRes, OpenTable)
Event Planning and Venue Management Solution (e.g., VenueOps)
Extensive experience in creating a event driven architecture using an Integration Middleware (e.g., MuleSoft) integrating the omni-channel core with the below platforms,
ERP Systems (e.g., SAP) for financial reconciliation, tax etc.
Content Landscape (CMS, DAM, PIM etc.) to retrieve and render the right content at the right time on the right channel
Consumer data platforms (e.g., Treasure Data) to create 360-degree view of consumers across channels
Marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud) to enable hyper-personalised communications across any channel preferred by our consumer
Identity & Access Management Systems (e.g., Auth0, OKTA) to enable single sign on capability for our consumers
Good understanding of Cookie Compliance Systems (e.g., OneTrust), Experience Design (e.g., Invision, Figma etc.) and Digital Experience Analytics Systems (e.g., QuantumMetrics, Google Analytics)
Certified AWS Solution Architect with expertise in Serverless Architecture (e.g., AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate etc.) and Secure Infrastructure and Network Design
Nice to Have:
Certified Azure Solution Architect with expertise in Serverless Architecture
Understanding of the below data and analytics tech,
CDP (e.g., Treasure Data)
DMP (e.g., TradeDesk)
Marketing Automation across any channel incl. media (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
Data Warehousing (e.g., Azure Synapse)
Visualisation (e.g., Qlik Sense, Power BI)
Media Performance Analytics (e.g., Datorama)
AI/ML Workbench (e.g., Dataiku)
