Our client, based in Croydon, are a leading food packaging company that are pioneers in manufacturing sustainable and biodegradable packaging, putting emphasis on their green values. They are currently seeking a Die Cutter Operator to join their growing team.


The perfect candidate will be responsible for operating a Bobst Novacut die cutting machine to manufacture cartons from paper-based materials.


The Role:



  • Operate and maintain sheet fed die cutting machinery

  • Confirm job details before feeding the press

  • Carry out daily press maintenance and lubrication tasks

  • Work enthusiastically to achieve production targets

  • Inspect pallets after cutting and complete daily quality checklists

  • Perform make-ready and preventive maintenance activities

  • Maintain accurate daily records of time, materials usage and production information

  • Assist with hand packing duties as needed

  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, hygiene procedures and allergy management

  • Report any potentially unsafe conditions issues to a supervisor

  • Communicate any quality concerns or customer complaints.


The Candidate:



  • Experience as a Sheet Fed Die Cutting Operator

  • Experience operating machinery similar to Bobst and Asahi die cutters (desirable)

  • Manufacturing experience (essential)

  • Experience with hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts (desirable)

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills

  • A willingness to learn and adapt

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.


Salary & Shifts


This a full time permanent job role with the salary depending on experience. It is an afternoon / evening position with the shift patterns as follows: 3:30pm-12:30am (Monday-Thursday) and 3:30pm-11:40pm (Friday).


Please note that if you aren’t available for these shifts but think you would be right for the role please do still apply as other shifts may be available.


Overtime is available during the week and weekends paid at time and a half.
