You will be based in our main department undertaking all aspects of plain radiography, fluoroscopy, mobiles and theatres. We have two main acute hospital sites--Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, plus our award-winning clinics across North West London and beyond.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesTo undertake all radiographic duties efficiently and to a high standard.To ensure that patients receive a high standard of care.To be conversant with the routine procedures in all general and screening rooms, casualty and mobile and theatre radiography.To assist with the practical training of student radiographers.To communicate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the Department.To ensure that the Radiation Protection guidelines, IR (ME) R guidelines and local rules are strictly adhered to.To ensure that the rules and procedures of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are strictly adhered to, and that all working areas are kept clean and safe.To participate in the departmental quality assurance programmes as required.To report and record all equipment faults.To participate in the on call and stand by rotas as required.To undertake any other duties which may be appropriate to the post.To offer an initial assessment and interpretation of images produced in the course of their role.To comply with, and be able to demonstrate and instruct, safe manual handling techniques.To comply with and be able to demonstrate safe infection control measures.To strive to achieve competencies required to progress to Band 6 radiographerTo maintain a commitment to, and take responsibility for, personal development utilising principles of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). The post holder is encouraged by the department to attend both personal and professional development activities that assist in their role and the service.GeneralCovid-19 vaccination is a condition of employment for this role, unless an exemption applies.
