Pay Rate: £13.69 - £14.91 per hour

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Assignment Duration: 5-6 months

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a diligent DFG Caseworker to join the team in Newcastle Under Lyme. This role involves processing Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) applications, conducting assessments, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review grant referrals to assess eligibility against legislative and local housing assistance policy criteria.
• Conduct comprehensive client assessments to identify home adaptation and improvement needs.
• Utilise software packages to conduct means testing for DFG applicants and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Provide clear and informed guidance to clients on procedures and practices, including refusal of grants when necessary.
• Identify additional support services needed by clients, such as alternative accommodation.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including disabled applicants, Occupational Therapists, contractors, and utility providers.
• Collaborate with registered providers and landlords to progress schemes on their properties.
• Process, review, and check grant applications for completeness and recommend them for approval.
• Issue grant approvals and instructions to proceed to contractors, coordinating works on-site.
• Manage invoicing processes and maintain accurate client records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
