Salary:
£80k-£90k
Role Overview:
The DevOps Manager is responsible for overseeing the DevOps lifecycle, including continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure as code, and system monitoring. You will lead a team of DevOps engineers and work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to create efficient and automated deployment pipelines. This role requires expertise in Azure DevOps, automation tools, containerisation, and infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, using Azure DevOps and other DevOps tools to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
Manage infrastructure as code, utilising tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Azure Resource Manager to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
Oversee containerisation and orchestration, using Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and scale applications.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure that code releases are efficient, reliable, and adhere to best practices.
Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Develop and maintain documentation related to DevOps processes, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
Stay up-to-date with emerging DevOps technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and deployment efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, with a focus on Azure DevOps and related technologies.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and automation tools, such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration, using Docker and Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of leading DevOps teams.
Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, are desirable.
