DevOps Engineer - Contract - Hybrid DevOps Engineer Guidewire Cloud Console, Azure, Agile Insurance City, London/ Hybrid Contract 6 months initially Up to GBP675 per day (outside IR35) My client, a leading specialist Insurer, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a new team for a Global Policy Admin inception. This role will suit an experienced Engineer with a strong proven background gained in all areas of the SDLC from design, development, testing, operations and infrastructure. You will have a passion for automation with an extensive experience within the Financial Services sector. ANY EXPERIENCE WITH GUIDEWIRE CLOUD CONSOLE IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE Key responsibilities:
Application and infrastructure planning and testing including integrationsMaintaining CI/CD pipelinesAutomation implementationGuidewire Cloud Console configurationOn-call, incident response and incident managementMonitoring the software development process through its entire lifecycle and ensuring adherence to security standardsRegularly updating or creating new processes to enhance performance and minimise wastageUnderstanding customer requirements and project KPIsImplementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure As expected in these roles, some out of hours and/or weekend work may be required. Knowledge and Experience
Extensive experience within the Financial Services sectorExperience of cloud integration gateways (AWS or Azure)Experience of DevOps practices and methodsExperience of Cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelinesDemonstrate a solid background and understanding of DevSecOpsA strong proven track record of implementing automated continuous delivery of enterprise services both on premise and cloudVery strong interpersonal skills with ability to train and transform organisational culture
Strong understanding of application design, testing, development and architectureExperienced in ways of working such as Agile Scrum, Lean methodologies such as Kanban and experience of Scaled Agile (LeSS, SAFe) would be beneficialDeep knowledge required of following tools/technologies
Containerisation tooling and management in particular, Docker & RancherCI/CD tooling such as Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Artifactory & GitHubIaC configuration tooling such as Chef/Ansible/Puppet/TerraformHypervisor technology such as VMWareMicrosoft Azure architectureMicrosoft Windows Server (up to 2019)Linix (any distribution)Microsoft SQL Server (up to 2019)PowerShell and/or other scripting languagesFundamentals of software testing
