Job title: Development Scientist

Location: Weybridge

Contract type: 7 months contract, full time

SRG are working with a world-leading consumer health company that strives to improve everyday health for people globally. We are currently looking for a Development Scientist to join the existing oral health team, to support the continued development of new and existing products.

This role would be ideal for someone that has some existing formulation experience under their belt to enable them to hit the ground running, a background in oral health would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Design experiments and carry out scientific work, creating research plans to fit overall project objectives.
  • Write and contribute to technical papers, with agreement of superiors, to enhance personal and departmental reputation.
  • Develop and implement technical transfer of methods or processes.
  • Maintain precise experimental records; issuing reports at project milestones, writing invention records to protect scientific discoveries.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with written procedures as well as identify, challenge, develop and implement such procedures (e.g. quality and safety), methods & batch documents, etc.
  • Produce and contribute to departmental quality documentation including SOP's, batch documentation, validation protocols & reports.
  • Specific safety and quality responsibilities for department and site (e.g. GMP, Audits, Health & Safety).
  • Develops knowledge of regulations impacting areas of work (e.g. EP/USP/ICH)

Our successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Previous formulation experience (e.g. weighing, recording, testing)
  • Ability to apply scientific principles and techniques to assigned projects.
  • Knowledge of R&D process and associated commercial environment.
  • Clear communicator in both oral and written form with both internal departments and external organisations.
  • Demonstrable initiative skills, thinking and working independently, problem-solving, working effectively in teams, and multitasking.
  • Ability to organise and report study data from internal and external sources.
