The role of Development Manager at our organization offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our fundraising strategy and support the Senior Leadership team. As the key point of contact for development matters, you will play a crucial role in managing various aspects of fundraising, including trusts and foundations, individual and corporate giving, event planning, and ensuring ethical fundraising practices. This part-time role requires a commitment of 3.5 days per week and offers a competitive salary of up to £40,000 pro rata.
Key Responsibilities:
Trusts and Foundations:
Update the trusts and foundations database and manage the pipeline of activity
Prepare tailored applications to trusts and foundations
Manage reporting deadlines to funders
Collaborate with artistic teams and Executive Director to shape proposals
Create budgets in coordination with relevant stakeholders
Individual and Corporate Giving:
Develop individual giving schemes and explore new initiatives such as membership and legacy programs
Cultivate relationships with potential donors and steward donors effectively
Research potential corporate supporters and pitch to them
Event Planning:
Create a program of cultivation events to thank and nurture existing donors, introduce potential campaigns, and initiate new relationship development
Ethical Fundraising Practices:
Develop an ethical fundraising statement in partnership with Executive and Board
Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and support the team in fostering a fundraising culture
General:
Manage fundraising budget and monitor income targets
Deliver compelling messaging around charitable giving both online and offline
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Alignment with the organization's vision, mission, values, and commitment to diversity and inclusion
Lived experience of disabling or marginalizing barriers
Understanding and experience of the performing arts landscape, key figures, organizations, and funders
Curious, inclusive, flexible, and collaborative working style
Strong communicator, team player, and ability to work across all levels
Track record of fundraising success, delivering against targets, and securing significant donations
Experience in monitoring and reporting against targets and managing budgets
Familiarity with relevant fundraising legislation, regulations, and financial issues
Proactive approach to continuing professional development
Experience dealing with public sector organizations at a senior level
Membership of relevant educational and/or professional bodies
Job Overview:
Job Title: Development Manager
Salary: Up to £40,000 pro rata
Location: Flexible, occasional travel nationally including London and South West UK
Hours: 3.5 days per week
Permanent position
Benefits: 36 days holiday pro rata including bank and public holidays, auto-enrolment pension scheme (NEST) with 3% employer contribution
