Our client is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual to join our Development Management team. Reporting to the Head of Development, the individual will be responsible for supporting the Development Team in leading project teams across a range of commercial and residential development projects across the capital.
Role objectives:
- The purpose of this position is to assist the Development Lead by acting as the Client/Owner's Agent throughout the entire progression of each property, encompassing stages from viability assessment to planning, construction, promotion, leasing, and management.
- The primary duties involve providing development management assistance for notable commercial and residential properties in central London, with a focus on commercial projects. Additionally, the role encompasses providing support in asset management for both sectors as dictated by company needs.
- As part of a team dedicated to long-term property ownership, the clients seldom engage in real estate transactions, allowing for a strategic, long-term vision in portfolio management. This approach emphasizes concrete achievements and grants the opportunity to significantly influence and take ownership of the final results.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate an intense curiosity, a strong desire to acquire knowledge, a vested interest in all aspects of the property development cycle, and the capacity to independently tackle challenges in unfamiliar territories.
Responsibilities:
- Crafting business strategies and conducting viability analyses.
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement and delivering insights through reports and presentations.
- Cultivating strong stakeholder relationships.
- Dispensing strategic commercial and technical guidance for office and residential developments.
- Aiding in the selection and induction of project teams.
- Spearheading smaller project teams as the principal client liaison or supporting senior colleagues on larger initiatives
- Supervising Development Management services rendered by external entities.
- Steering stakeholder management and engaging in negotiations with external parties.
- Coordinating all necessary third-party and regulatory consents in collaboration with the professional team.
- Collaborating with the asset manager to prime assets for the commencement of construction.
- Managing the professional and construction teams throughout the development process
- Directing strategic decision-making and contributing to cost-effective design solutions.
- Administering project risk management and proposing proactive risk mitigation and execution strategies.
- Guaranteeing project completion by sanctioned timelines and financial plans.
Essential;
- Relevant experience gained working in property development, either at a developer or at a leading property consultancy
- In-depth understanding of the UK real estate development process, combining knowledge of the property market, with the technical and leadership skills needed to put together and deliver development projects.
- A demonstrable track record of leading office and residential schemes from inception, through design and planning, and delivery, as the project manager, development manager or developer.
- Up to date knowledge of both the commercial and residential sectors, with an emphasis on London and major cities across the UK
