Working Hours/Arrangements
40 hours per week (9am to 6pm, including one hour of unpaid break), Mondays to Thursdays – office based; Fridays – work from home. Flexible-working might be considered (2 WFH days a week) following completion of probational period.

Job brief
We are looking for a
Desktop Support Engineer
to join our IT team at Servers.com to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems.
You will answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them. You will also be responsible for collaborating with the IT Manager and helping the IT Team run new projects.
As an excellent Desktop support engineer, some of your responsibilities will be monitoring and maintaining the computer systems within our organisation in a technical support role. You must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution.
Responsibilities

Prepare workplaces for new users (Apple laptops, standard PC)

Perform installation and configuration procedures

Provide user support (daily issues) in office and remotely

Train new people to work with our IT systems

Handle warranty repair

Replace and maintain office hardware

Install and configure network equipment, commission new facilities

Manage documentation (warranty, accounting, inventory)

Prepare manuals for setting up and using the software

Participate in system recovery after crashes and malfunction of hardware.

Perform other activities for the maintenance and development of infrastructure.
The above list of duties is not exhaustive. You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the IT Support team.
Experience/qualifications/skills

At least 1-year experience in a similar position.

Knowledge of computer components, peripherals, network equipment.

Knowledge of principles and methods of networking.

Basic knowledge of macOS, Windows 11, 10.

Experience in developing internal documentation.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Excellent writing and editing skills in English.

Experience in Windows Server and Linux administration is desirable (but not essential).

Experience in networking (routing, WiFi management) is desirable.

Experience in MDM Solutions is desirable (but not essential).

Salary range: £27,000 - £35,000 per annum.
