We are seeking a highly talented and influential Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO) to champion our key priorities across SEND and social care.Bromley Children's Social Care has recently earned an Ofsted rating of "outstanding."Applications will close on 3 March 2024 at 5 pm.About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a new role focused on enhancing collaborative working between Education, Health, and Social Care. As the DSCO, you will strategically lead in embedding the social care aspects of the SEND strategy across the local authority. Your role will ensure compliance with legislative requirements of the SEND Code of Practice 0-25 (#####) and uphold statutory responsibilities under the Children and Family Act (2014) and Care Act (2014).Key Responsibilities:Lead social care elements of the SEND strategyEnsure statutory duties for children and young people with SEND are metRepresent Bromley Council at regional and national eventsProvide expert professional advice on SEND reformsPromote opportunities for co-production and effective partnershipsOffer training, advice, and guidance to staff and partner agenciesUse quality assurance frameworks to monitor service effectivenessIdentify areas for practice improvement and present solutionsDemonstrate excellent organizational, planning, and administrative skillsCollaborate with senior managers to drive organizational developmentsWhat We're Looking For:Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with SENDIn-depth knowledge of social care legislation and SEND reformsStrong negotiation and influencing skillsAbility to build effective partnerships with stakeholdersExperience in using quality assurance frameworksExcellent leadership and negotiation skillsCommitment to relationship-based practiceRequirements:Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration (SWE)Significant experience in a senior social work roleStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of safeguarding frameworks, legislation, and best practices.Commitment to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practices.The Bromley Promise:Manageable caseloadsDedicated time for reflective supervisionGenerous Annual Leave EntitlementTwo-week protected induction programmeExcellent Learning and development opportunitiesRegular access to leadership teamJoin us in continuing to provide high-quality social care services to the children of Bromley.
