for all matters relating to electrical standards and electrical safety that includes monitoring, authorising, reporting to the Electrical Duty Holder and where necessary enforcing through The Company procedure of a safe system of work.The DEE will (depending on a particular project) assume the role of Authorising Officer in writing by the Electrical Duty Holder at his discretion, to provide for and approve the assessment of candidates for the authorisation classes such as Senior Authorised Person, Authorised Person in addition to assessing and authorising Competent Persons in accordance with the Company’s Competency Assessment and Authorisation Procedure.Key Responsibilities:• Responsible for the implementation and auditing of VVB’s Electrical Safety Rules.• Assess, Appoints and oversees the activities of Senior Authorised Persons and Authorised Persons• Plans, develops, coordinates and conducts monthly electrical safety audits.• Responsible for implementing, administering, and monitoring the application of current electrical safety rules and associated guidance including standard and industry updates.• Management of the lessons learned register, electrical safety records, electrical safety audit schedules, etc., as appropriate in line with VVB’s Electrical Safety Rules.• Maintain a register of all Authorised and Competent Persons in The Company’s Notify System and update the records as on when required.• Ensure that candidates for appointment as Authorised and Competent Persons Satisfy the qualification requirements.• Initiates and co-ordinates investigations of relevant electrical near misses, incidents and dangerous occurrences and/or review and comment upon internal investigation reports.• Facilitates the organising of HV and LV practical and theoretical training.• Recommends and assists site teams with specialist PPE required for use.• Develops training packages and provide training to facilitate all levels of activity within Electrical Safety Rules.• Promotes the creation of a work environment, supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.• Assist with the review of subcontractors to determine suitability.What we are looking for...• Knowledge of industry and regulatory codes and standard such as Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSWA), the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EAWR), the Electricity, Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 (ESQCR), The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) and all other appropriate UK and / or European Statutory regulations relating to electrical safety.• Knowledge of HV and LV systems and installations in use and more complex systems applicable to the appointment.• Accurately assess electrical risks and reviews RAMS• Knowledge of writing Electrical Safety Management System (ESMS) specific to Infrastructure projects.• Good knowledge of Permit-to-Work process• Good knowledge of LOTO requirements and dual lock out process and reasoning, importance of sanctioned lock removal and protocols.• Ability to manage people to meet the Electrical Safety goals or to complete tasks on multiple projects.• Exposure to online based incident, accident recording systems and documentation package.• Familiarity with 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulation.• MS Office skills including ExcelQualifications Required:• A recognized degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or vast experience in similar role with recognized HND in Electrical Engineering.• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or sufficient competency to achieve this.• Low Voltage Authorised Person Training with LV Switching certification.• SMSS Certification.• HSE training, NEBOSH Construction Certificate• CSCS Card – AQP or PQP min.This role will be based across our project locations, you will be required to travel to other sites and offices as and when required.VVB values the benefits of
