Role: Design Manager
Location: Remote + 1 day per month on-site in Plymouth, Devonport, PL2 2BG
Duration: 12 months
Rate: Negotiable on experience
Inside IR35 - Umbrella only
Responsibilities
- Management of the multidisciplinary design elements of the buildings, ensuring designer technical performance and making appropriate technical responses.
- Provide Technical design guidance and review of the overall design packages including safety functional requirements as defined in the Safety Case.
- Provide Technical design guidance and review integration of the designs with other design packages
- Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule and budget
- Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and effectively contributing to the project's technical planning process.
Experience Required
- Previous experience of high level Technical Management of highly complex building projects
- Design and construction of major new industrial buildings with multifunctionality - workshops, storage, offices etc.
- It would be beneficial to have experience on high hazard facilities in the nuclear sector or hospitals such as X-ray facilities.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Batchelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering is required.
- Preferred Chartered Architect or Engineer, registered with appropriate
- Ideally Nuclear / Defence / Highly regulated
