Design Engineer

Connect Appointments have an exciting new opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual to become a Design Engineer with our Clydebank based client.

Our client is a manufacturer of a comprehensive range of rigid dry-freight and refrigerated bodywork, to suit all sizes of vehicles. Their bodywork is designed and manufactured at their Glasgow site.

What's on offer?

• A full-time permanent position
• Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
• £30,000 to £40,000 per annum - DOE

In this engineering role, you will be responsible for managing new contracts, from the design stages, to issuing drawings. When the project reaches the production stage, you will support the manufacturing departments to ensure a smooth and effective completion of the build.

Working as a Design Engineer your duties will include, but not limited to:

• Assessing and reviewing customer requirements including technical support for roles
• Designing to ensure customer requirements are converted into effective solutions
• Creating bill of material records including standard and non-standard parts
• Purchasing materials and taking part in the procurement process

The ideal Design Engineer will have at least 3 year's experience using SolidWorks software. Combined with experience working within the manufacturing industry (vehicle truck, plant, or bus manufacturing); and knowledge of drive works software.
