Enabling them to capitalise on these opportunities, they are building a Tata Group Synergies project team to develop our strategic approach to battery supply working across multiple organisations, both inside and outside the group.

Description

Job Purpose

The role will be part of the Capital Projects Management / Construction team who are accountable for implementing the buildings and infrastructure programme required to support the ambitious plans.

They are looking for someone from a Main Contractor / Delevoper background to manage the overall design / masterplan of the project.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage design development.
  • Responsible for the development and governance of the design development which supports the project.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall approach to the build program, its major timeframes and the definition of its major deliverables to address and meet the desired outcomes.
  • Manage and resolve any risks and other issues that may arise.
  • Ensure projects remain within budget, managing the financial aspects including contracts, change orders and any disputes.
  • Accurate estimation and predictability of programme costs and timing, ensuring cost efficiency and value for money of the work packages within the build programme.
  • Ensure timely completion of design, anticipating potential delays and addressing them proactively.
  • Challenge technical assumptions to ensure that optimum solutions are achieved for the project.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders including architects, engineers, subcontractors and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and communicated.
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring and controlling of projects performance and provide regular and accurate data reporting.
  • Delivery of agreed Safety, Quality, Time and Costs outcomes.
  • Delivery of the required build outputs to enable the required outcomes to allow the programme to realise its intended benefits.
  • Evaluate and implement lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Chartered or professional Engineer in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering fields ideal but not essential.
  • Experience of design management for technical and complex projects.
  • Technical proficiency either Design Management, MEP, civils and structural engineering or Architecture experience along with the ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands.
  • Experience in developing large complex projects through the design phase through to contract.
  • Background in managing projects in various sectors including batteries, pharma, R&D, hospitals, large-scale manufacturing, aerospace, Semi-Conductors, Specialized Environments, or other large/gigafactory builds.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, evolving environment, where processes and structures are being established.
  • Proven track record in dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion and ability to achieve results within the set timeframe.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with a wide range of key stakeholders and ability to influence the key decision makers.
  • Demonstrated good knowledge of procurement, contract management, financial and change management.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team with excellent people management skills.
  • Battery factory experience is ideal but not essential.

Job Offer

  • Salary: �70,000 - 85,000
  • Car Allowance: �6,800
  • Bonus: 12.5%
  • 25 days holiday
