Deputy Team Manager 14+ LAC and Leaving Care TeamContract Type: PermanentHours: Full Time 37 hours per weekLocation of post: Neath Civic CentreWorkstyle : You will be a mobile hybrid workerIt’s an exciting time in Children and Young People Services as we continue to make solid progress towards our aims of achieving quality, supporting families and effectively managing risk. We are proud to have a strong and stable management team; training and supporting staff remains a high priority and average caseloads per social worker continue to be low. We are currently looking for a Deputy Team Manager to join our 14+ LAC and Leaving Care Team.The 14 + LAC and Leaving Care Team works with young people aged between 14 – 25 years old, supporting young people under Part 6 of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014. The team consists of a Team Manager, two deputies, a Consultant Social Worker, a Social Work team and a team of Young Person’s Personal Advisors, working collaboratively to support young people in and leaving Local Authority care.This post will involve holding a reduced caseload of complex cases undertaking direct work with young people between the ages of 14 and 25 years, providing high levels of support, advocacy, advice and guidance. You will be required to undertake LAC and Pathway Assessments, co-ordinate and facilitate the implementation of LAC and Pathway Plans and undertake visits in line with statutory timescales. You will have a good understanding and knowledge of the Social Services and Well-being Act 2014 and the All-Wales Child Protection Procedures.You will provide direct supervision to social workers and Personal Advisors in line with the Local Authority supervision policy and deputise for the Team Manager in their absence, making managerial decisions for the team under the guidance of the Principal Officer.You will work with a number of statutory and voluntary agencies to co-ordinate the effective delivery of support services for young people in and leaving Local Authority care, in line with agreed plans and current legislation.If you would like to be part of a Service that strives for excellence and supports its employees to achieve their potential, this could be the role for you.
