Manthorpe Building Products�is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.



This role is to assist the Team Leader in their duties where required and help guide team members on the shop floor with the day to day activities.



The working hours for this role are Monday - Friday 7:30am until 5:00pm. The rate of pay is �12.33 per hour.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Support the Shift Team Leader supervising staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Assist the Shift Team Leader in providing day to day direction and control of the production activity.

  • In the absence of the Shift Team Leader, organise each shift with their work assignments and rotations, training on new jobs, holidays and sorting the cover for them, overtime distribution, and arranging cover for absent employees.

  • Monitor the quality of production and complete first off approvals.

  • Monitor the shop floor production activity ensuring that targets are achieved.

  • Communicate with other Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers with production issues.

  • Support the business needs by operating machines as directed by the Shift Team Leader.

  • Assist other employees to resolve operation problems.

  • Work in conjunction with the other department heads to ensure health and safety compliance.

  • Contribute to 5S activities within the shop floor area and other departments.

  • Ensure that the team operates at the optimum performance levels in their tasks and that high standards and quality is maintained.

  • Focusing on health and safety on all activities undertaken.

  • Be competent in carrying out manual handling tasks.

  • Offering ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement and participating in the activities undertaken.

  • Liaising with the Production Manager and other members of the management team to understand issues which have occurred and discuss viable solutions.

  • To act as a medium for effective knowledge transfer between all production departments as required.



Skills/Requirements:




  • Previous experience in a Deputy or Team Leader role is advantageous

  • Experience of working in a fast paced Manufacturing setting is advantageous

  • Able to work as part of a team

  • Strong people skills

  • High quality of work standards and a keen eye for detail

  • Able to motivate a team
