An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Gastroenterology Team as a Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse on Kimberley Ward.Kimberley Ward is a 37 bedded ward specialising in Gastroenterology: nursing a range of Gastroenterology disorders/diseases including liver disease, bowel disorders, anorexia nervosa, those needing medical detox from alcohol, and a range of people needing various forms of enteral feeding.Alongside these conditions we work very closely with several specialist nursing teams including the Nutrition Support Team, Substance Misuse, Liver, IBD and Mental Health teams. Our Gastro Team also provides specialist medical care for those with eating disorders.We are currently seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated registered nurse to join our friendly and motivated senior team.As part of the Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse role, you will work with other members of the Senior Team to enhance your own managerial skills, such as Datix investigating, audits, responding to complaints and completing the ward rota all actioned on a rotation basis.You will also be responsible for your own team within the ward structure that you can again enhance your own managerial learning by completing attendance meetings, ensuring mandatory training is completed and aiding people in their continuing professional development.· You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as being a key member of the ward team, with the ability and willingness to lead a new and expanding workforce.· Individuals should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.· Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with significant experience at Band 5 level.· Ability to maintain high standards of patient care.· Possess a high level of motivation and the ability to use your own initiative.· Experience of managing and leading a clinical area.Join us at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and be part of a workforce of over 10,000 staff!The NNUH is one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, providing first-class acute care for around one million people, living in Norfolk and surrounding areas.
