Main duties of the job
To deputise for the Associate Director of Pharmacy, Quality Assurance (QA) in the management, leadership and development of professional, technical and QA/Quality Control (QC) services to UHBW.
To be the transformation project lead and to provide support for all innovation projects across Pharmacy Technical Services. This includes the gap analysis, impact and risk assessment and implementation of actions in response to regulatory change (e.g. new GMP Annex 1), qualification/validation and implementation of new specialist software, and the commissioning and qualification/validation of new equipment.
To work collaboratively with all Pharmacy Technical Services managers and Quality Leads to ensure regulatory compliance and to drive standardisation, development and continued improvement.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
Relevant science degree
Postgraduate qualification in pharmaceutical Quality Assurance or relevant
Registration/eligible to be registered with named professional bodies (i.e. General Pharmaceutical Council, Royal Society of Chemistry, Institute of Biology or Health and Care Professionals Council)
Desirable criteria
Management/Leadership qualification
Project management qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
Hospital pharmaceutical QA/QC and/or manufacturing/aseptic preparation service experience
Substantial experience and knowledge of regulatory guidance and standards relating to pharmaceutical quality management (e.g. GMP, GDP and ICH Q10)
Thorough understanding of legislation, responsibilities and risk relating to the manufacture, supply and release of medicinal products
Experience in planning, implementing and reviewing validation activities
Experience in change management
Eligibility to be named on the MHRA license
Management / Supervisor experience
