An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to apply for the post of Deputy Network Manager Reporting to the Network Manager, the Deputy Network Manager oversees the day-to-day operation and administration of the Trust's WAN and LAN networks, our Unified Communication equipment and the cyber security solutions that guard it all for the Trust. You will be responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of all Trust Networks equipment and firewalls, Network Links and Unified Communication equipment. You will also take a lead in developing and maintaining our cyber security provisions to our infrastructure, keeping pace with changes in technology.Main duties of the jobYou will line manage the Network Engineers in the team, working out the required site staffing rota to ensure coverage and you will deputise for the Network Manager in their absence. You will need to be forward looking and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a calm positive attitude along with good organisational and management skills. It is important that the post holder can multi-task and work under pressure as well as deal with any emergency situations which may arise. To be responsible for firewall administration, documentation of all the installations and processes.
To operate and document corporate network monitoring, backup, security, syslog software.
To support and deliver network optimisation. To be responsible for the administration and maintenance of mission critical network devices and business applications. To deliver a customer-focussed, professional third-line IT support service.To assist in projects and design new network architects along with business requirements.
To support, maintain and take ownership of all the network processes in absence of Network Manager.
To deputise for the Network Manager, managing the work of the network administration team.Person SpecificationExperienceEssential
Demonstrable experience of working in a large organisation using Cisco technologies at a senior level to include the management of staff Experience of service development/service review and leading on successful implementation of change Experience of successfully managing integration and formation ICT systems Experience of policy review, implementation and writing procedures Experience of planning and installing networks LAN/WAN Experience of implementing wireless LAN solution engines Experience of supporting/leading on IT related project tasks Experiencing of supervising the workload of others Experience of working in a service desk environment with service level agreements (preferably ITIL)
Desirable
Experience of wiring UTP and making RJ45 terminations Experience of monitoring software e.g. Cisco works and Solar winds Experience of working in a patient environment Experience of working in the NHS
Training & QualificationsEssential
Cisco certified network professional (CCNA/CCNP) ITIL Foundation certification Member of a recognised IM& T professional organisation e.g. BCS Evidence of continuing professional and personal development

CCIE CompTIA S+ CompTIA N+ PRINCE2 foundation qualification in project management Educated to degree level in a computing/engineering/technical discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise to include one of the following qualifications
